Module 1
This course is for staff working in clinical roles. The aim of the course is to help learners understand ways to interact in a culturally competent manner with CALD patients and families. This course will increase awareness of your own cultural values, gain skills to recognise cultural differences and develop skills to apply the principles of cultural competence in practice.
Module 1CS
This course is for customer service or non-clinical roles. The aim of this course is to increase awareness of your own cultural values and cultural values different from your own and to develop skills to apply the principles of cultural competence in your interaction with CALD clients.
Module 2
The aim of this course is to understand ways that you can interact in a culturally competent and sensitive manner with migrant patients.
Module 3
The aim of this course is to introduce you to the refugee experience and to assist you in working with refugee patients and families in consultations.
Module 4
The aim of this course is to enhance your knowledge and skills when working with interpreters and to improve your communication with non-English speaking migrant and refugee patients (and family members).
Module 6
This course aims to provide strategies for managing cross-cultural interactions, treatment, and interventions when working with CALD clients and families during palliative and end-of-life care.
Module 7
The aim of this course is to ensure learners are aware of religious diversity and gain skills to assess and accommodate the spiritual/religious needs of patients and families.
Module 8
The aim of this course is to introduce you to the challenges of working with the cultural beliefs about disability that impact on treatment and interventions, as well as ways to accommodate different beliefs and attitudes wherever possible.
