The development of CALD cultural competencies in the health sector includes recognising culture as a determinant of health status and recognising the need for a culturally competent workforce to address issues of equity and cultural safety of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) groups. CALD cultural competence focuses on the skills, behaviours and attitudes required for working with CALD migrant and refugee communities from Asian, Middle Eastern, Latin American, African and European countries.
These are all our courses for health practitioners who are interested in gaining skills to work with CALD patients. It provides insight and understanding on cultural dimensions, how different cultures respond to health-related situations, different health concepts, faith-based practices, and differences in expectations from health systems.
This training programme is for mental health and addiction workforce who are keen to gain cultural and linguistic diversity (CALD) competencies to be able to recognise and respond to the diverse and unique needs of the Asian and Refugee communities in a mental health and addiction context.
