Starship Community Service manages the Regional Refugee Community Health Worker Team who provide assistance to families from refugee backgrounds in the Auckland region to improve the mental, social and physical well-being of people from refugee backgrounds (including asylum seekers) and their families through the co-ordination of health and related services that impact on their health and well-being.

About Starship Community

Starship Community is part of Auckland District Health Board and has child development, disability, and health promotion services for pre-school and school age children and their families. The service provides medical officers, public health nurses, social workers, community health workers (including refugee and new migrant community health workers), nutritionists, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and visiting therapists. This service has an open referral system.
