The Asian Nurse Specialist provides advice and support on diabetes self management to South Asian patients and family members and provides training to health professional in primary and secondary care sectors.

Advice and support on diabetes self-management includes:

  • Maintaining HbA1c levels within target range
  • Maintaining BMI measurements within target range
  • Maintaining blood pressure readings within target range
  • Maintaining lipids within target range
  • Undergoing regular screening for retinopathy
  • Undergoing regular screening for microalbuminaemia
