ACC New Zealand have Chinese and Korean cultural support staff to support clients with information about eligibility, access, claims, queries and other cultural related matters
The role of the Age Concern Asian Service is to address the challenges and meet the needs of older Chinese people living in Auckland, in collaboration with other existing Chinese agencies and groups, in order to connect the older people to the services and activities available for them to create a sense of belonging in the community.
This is a national not-for-profit organisation providing a problem gambling related counselling, social worker support service and helpline service in multiple languages.
Waitemata DHB's Asian Health Services provides a range of cultural and language specific services to Asian patients and community members residing in the North Shore, Rodney and Waitakere regions.
ADHB's Asian Mental Health Service provides Asian clinical cultural consultation services as well as community health support services, working alongside the ADHB mental health teams to ensure the mainstream services are responsive to the mental health needs of Asian service users and their families.
WDHB's Asian Mental Health Service has a team of Asian cultural service coordinators and contracted Asian therapists/psychologists providing support to Asian service users who are under the care of the Waitemata DHB's clinical teams.
Asian Smokefree Communities is a free quit smoking service for Asian people and their families.
Asian Wellbeing Services (AWS) is part of Asian Family Services, and was established in 2016 to provide multi-lingual and culturally appropriate psychological interventions, tailor-made psycho-education and therapy workshops.
The Asian Nurse Specialist provides advice and support on diabetes self management to South Asian patients and family members and provides training to health professional in primary and secondary care sectors.
Auckland Elder Abuse Response Service (EARS) - Asian and South Asian Services [NGO] [Auckland Region]
The Auckland Elder Abuse Response Service (a collective of Age Concern Counties Manukau, Age Concern Auckland, Age Concern North Shore, Vaka Tautua and Shanti Niwas), covers the Auckland region, working collaboratively to assist older Asian and Pacific people who have been referred to our service. The Elder Abuse Response Service (EARS) aims to improve the quality of life of older people in abusive situations and to prevent abuse by providing information, education programmes, advocacy and support. If your are concerned about elder abuse, whether you are an older person yourself, a family member, friend, neighbor or professional, you can contact our Elder Abuse Responsive Service team for free and confidential advice. Our qualified EARS Social Workers have a wide knowledge of the needs of older people and their carers and they work closely with relevant organisations.
Connect Supporting Recovery is a mental health non-governmental organisation which has an Asian support team covering 15 Asian languages including: Hindi, Japanese, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Korean, Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese and Japanese.
