Have your say! Refresh of the New Zealand Refugee Resettlement Strategy and the NZ Migrant Settlement and Integration Strategy | Immigration New Zealand

Immigration New Zealand is calling for help to improve how refugees, migrants and Pacific people are resettled in New Zealand. Immigration New Zealand is calling for help to improve how refugees, migrants and Pacific people are resettled in New Zealand.

They are refreshing the following two strategies that support refugees and migrants, including Pacific peoples, which were implemented about 10 years ago and things have changed since then.

  • New Zealand Refugee Resettlement Strategy - NZRRS
  • New Zealand Migrant Settlement and Integration Strategy - NZMSIS

Each of the strategies has five outcome areas:

  • For the NZRRS, these areas include Self-sufficiency, Housing, Education, Health and wellbeing, and Participation.
  • For the NZMSIS, these areas include Employment, Education and training, English language, Inclusion, and Health and wellbeing.

They want to know:

  • What does a successful settlement look like? What works?
  • What are the gaps and barriers to successful settlement?
  • What have you done to overcome barriers?

How to have your say

• Attend a settlement strategy engagement session.

• Complete the settlement strategy questionnaire.

• Participate in a co-design workshop.
