CALD A - Working in Culturally Diverse Teams

3 hours face-to-face training depending on team size (maximum 25 participants).


This course is designed as a team-based workshop for staff preferably from the same department/service working in a culturally diverse workplace in primary care, secondary care, and/or mental health services.

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Understand the work ethics and expectations of the New Zealand health sector.
  • Understand the value dimensions that cause barriers to effective cross cultural interaction.
  • Recognise own culture and values.
  • Identify strategies that enable effective working relationships in a diverse team.
  • Develop skills on building trust.
  • Gain skills in cultural mindfulness.
